Troop movement forming armies, missions and objectives


Troop points values. Building a force the attackers will have fifty per cent more in attack made up of their own troops or allies. If 300 points defend, 450 will be attacking. any other forces joining or entering regions will be at 150 points max. They may join either side. Rebellions can be ronin samurai or families sponsoring or supporting the rebels. Any defeated troops and surviving a battle become ronin and wander the region as bandits. If garrisons are used in battle and lost, the region is lost. If garrisoned a siege begins. They can be relieved by allied forces from outside. The longer a siege goes on, they can recruit troops , who join any relief force. A relief is an attack on the besiegers so there force including the defenders is equal to on third more than the besiegers. 1 mounted Daimyo or Lord starts in the clan capital. (takes 4 wounds) Taishos (generals) 30 (take 2 wounds) Samurai 10 Samurai bow 15 War horse 10 Samurai Tachi or Naginata 15 Samurai musket 25 Kensai, or Celebrated warriors 50 (take 3 wounds) Yari samurai or Samurai swordsmen 10 Ashigaru musket 10 Ashigaru bow 5 Yari Ashigaru 5 ninjas 30 geisha assassin 100 Warrior monks, sword, yari, naginata 20 Warrior monks bow or musket 25 armed peasants up to 6 free per defence of a town or village. If they retreat on the castle, the town or village is lost. One cannon or siege weapon is free for besiegers and besieged. Lords or Daimyo killed in battle are succeeded by family members until their line is destroyed. Ikko Ikki or rebels can spring revolts or bar campaigns. They are usually backed by fanatic Religous elements,warriors monks, and are no pushover. 5 monks 5 Bow 5 sword or spear plus peasants with assorted weapons up to 150 points. they can be supplemented with Backing from dissident samurai factions, Ronin or families dispossessed, seeking power. Regions must be protected. If villages and industries are captured or destroyed there won't be any troops produced to relieve the defenders. Regions have to be patrolled against banditry and incursions by enemy clans or raids. Territories with rivers require that both banks are held against the enemy or no income can be expected that month. (Defense additions won't be available). Assassination can be attempted against army leaders or clan lords in their home territory. The website for the rules can demonstrate the game play.
